LET’S FIX AMERICA
It takes all of us to make America free and prosperous.
REAL PRINCIPLES
We must actively recognize the realities that our rights come from God and that all people are flawed, reflecting these truths in our laws and systems. We must always speak as if our country is at stake if we want a free society.
REAL FREEDOM
Equal Justice Under The Law, Sound Money, Free Markets, America First, and The Protection of The Vulnerable.
REAL RESULTS
More Wealth, More Freedom, and the Renewal of America.
ABOUT JACK
Jack Codiga is a Christian, finance professional, and proud American. He sees the forces crushing America—from soaring housing and healthcare costs and crippling college debt to the erosion of shared values—and believes that real principles grounded in truth must guide our governance for the country to thrive.
Since moving to Charlotte from California in 2021, Jack has seen firsthand how these issues affect all Americans. He is seeking to represent North Carolina’s 12th District and is committed to helping bring freedom and opportunity across the nation.
Jack’s ultimate goal is to encourage every American to take responsibility in building a free society, and he wrote a ~25 minute guide on the core beliefs every citizen should uphold if we want to live freely.
PLATFORM
-
Strip away administrative bloat and expose healthcare to real market forces like price transparency and competition. It’s unreasonable that people must stay in a job just to keep their health insurance or that gatekeepers control how healthcare professionals practice.
-
A single middle-class income once supported homeownership—and sometimes even a vacation home. Today, even dual-income families struggle. Sound money will address much of this, but zoning reform is also essential. Zoning should be limited to genuine infrastructure or pollution concerns. If you own property, it should be yours.
-
Eliminate government-guaranteed student loans and allow borrowers to declare bankruptcy under existing law.
-
End all welfare programs, including the godfather of all Ponzi schemes (Social Security), government healthcare, and government-backed mortgages. These programs create dependency, inflate costs, and suppress wealth creation. A free society requires a true free-market foundation—private property, voluntary exchange, competition, and a limited government that protects rights, not an economy built on dependency. Charity belongs to the people, not the government. A free society only exists when its citizens choose responsibility.
-
If every person has inherent value, government should not manipulate behavior with subsidies or credits. Property taxes should be illegal, and the 16th Amendment (income tax) should be abolished. America should rely on simpler, user-based taxes and tariffs. As government returns to its proper role, its spending will shrink accordingly.
-
Licenses can be misused to create unnecessary barriers to entry. They should be required only for professions where severe direct or third-party harm is possible—such as drivers, truckers, or surgeons. States must carry the burden of proof for every licensing requirement they impose.
-
Trade usually creates wealth, but unfettered trade can lead to dangerous dependence on other countries and threaten national security. America should maintain a baseline of self-sufficiency, trade excess goods, and exercise caution when trading essential goods and services.
-
A free society requires that the government treat everyone equally under the law. Past injustices, while real, cannot justify collective punishment or special treatment for some today. Equality under the law is non-negotiable: one law for everyone, no political favorites, no double standards.

Sound money is the foundation for prosperity and freedom.
Our current currency is created out of thin air, and over the years, life’s basics have become out of reach for many. Everyone recognizes this problem, but we must address it correctly by tackling the root cause rather than relying on government programs that often fail or make the situation worse.
Since our currency isn’t backed by something real, like gold or silver as the Constitution intended, we are in a bad spot. “No State shall… make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts.” (U.S. Constitution, Article I, Section 10)
Here’s what we need to do:
Abolish the Federal Reserve, an illegitimate overseer of our currency, and place oversight under the U.S. Treasury.
Return to gold and silver as money, which work because of their fixed supply and tangible value.
Reform banking so deposits are lent out, not multiplied through new money creation.
-
Beyond an illegitimate currency, America’s economy is broken because of crony capitalism, an ever-expanding welfare state, and a departure from true free-market principles. Here’s how we restore a real free market.
America First
-
America’s federal election system has strengths, like the Electoral College, which prevents a few population centers from controlling the outcome and adds security against fraud. Since all people are flawed, this system helps ensure better governance. But problems remain: some states don’t require voter ID, and electronic machines are vulnerable—paper ballots should be mandatory at the federal level. The influence of party gatekeepers also undermines voter choice. We should adopt a primary system for the general election similar to some European countries: all candidates compete, a candidate with a majority (>50%) wins, or the top two advance to a runoff. Election Day should be a federal holiday.

God has structured us into nations, and we must protect ours. Immigration should prioritize assimilation into American culture and meaningful contribution to society. Work visas should be limited, and illegal immigration must be addressed. Living in America means embracing our values and identity. The longer we wait, the bigger the problem becomes, as an unassimilated population grows and risks permanently changing our nation against our consent. We need a structured plan to deport or assimilate illegal immigrants, focusing first on violent criminals and those exploiting government programs. Cutting welfare and reforming the system will naturally reduce illegal residency over time, but fixing the current crisis must come first while we continue the larger conversation on streamlining immigration.

The First Amendment ensures free expression, traditionally protecting citizens from government censorship. Today, social media functions as a public square, but collusion between government and private platforms threatens speech. I support legislation criminalizing such collusion and requiring transparency in algorithms, giving users the option to view content chronologically.
-
Spying on citizens for profit—through targeted ads, data mining, or facial recognition—is wrong. Your data belongs to you. Digital surveillance undermines the spirit of the Fourth Amendment, which protects against unwarranted searches and seizures, and it must be prohibited, even by private companies. Services should never be contingent on surrendering personal data. Government agencies often outsource surveillance to private companies, creating extensive back-end systems that track citizens without consent. For example, airport facial scans used by airlines and government agencies likely come from data collected on personal devices—a practice that is invasive and unaccountable. Strong laws are needed to stop it.
-
The Second Amendment protects not only self-defense and hunting, but also the right to resist tyranny. Universally allowing gun ownership is essential in a country where citizens must have the right to overthrow a government. If that is the standard, individuals should certainly be able to protect themselves. States should not create burdensome legal hurdles just to carry a firearm.
-
America must prioritize its own interests and support countries that share our values while opposing those that act against us. Interventions—whether military or economic—require careful judgment, and our representatives must be loyal to the United States above all. Foreign agents influencing domestic politics should be registered, barred from participating in elections, and, at minimum, face deportation to their country of loyalty. A clear gap in the system is AIPAC, the Israel lobby, which has too much influence in our politics.
Protecting the Vulnerable
-
Life begins at conception, it doesn’t matter which state you are in. Ending a life intentionally should be treated as murder under the law.
-
Individuals under 18 should not have access to gender-affirming procedures, and no government-backed insurance should cover these elective procedures.
-
While freedom is essential, it is not absolute when the harm is severe—and in this case, it is. Pornography is highly addictive and destructive, damaging individuals and the social fabric of society. We must establish guardrails against its production and distribution, targeting penalties at producers of hardcore pornography, while protecting freedom of expression for non-harmful content. Any approach must avoid creating a dystopian internet or overreaching censorship.
